WALTES BOWLS

Waltes bowl, sticks and dice made by Todd Labrador
The Waltes bowl was considered
to be important in Mi'kmaq mythology.
It was said that when the Waltes was filled with water
and left overnight, its appearance the following morning would reveal
knowledge of the past, present, and future. The Waltes game consists of three things;
the board itself, the sticks and the dice.
The design used by Waterdancer in making his Waltes bowls is similiar to his Great-Grandfather Joe Jermey's design. The Waltes bowl itself is made from maple or birch, the sticks from birch and the dice from bone.
